This town has so many medieval towers that it became known as the - city of a Hundred Towers. Today only five remain. Three of The Medieval Towers are on Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, one with a remaining working clock.

On my northern Italy romantic tour I will definitely include the city of Pavia, not only because it is worth visiting, but also for its exquisite cooking and wine. This province is known for rice production and rice based meals (risotto). In this town there are 80 different ways to prepare rice. My favorite local wine is their red Bonarda.
