LeNord trains are the best way to visit one of two most romantic Northern Italy lakes, Lake Come and Lake Maggiore. From Milan you don’t need a car to take a day trip to these marvels. Just hop on a train of the LeNord private train company and in a short time you are in a magic place of lakes.
Both lakes are reachable by North Italy trains (FNM) from the centrally located Cadorna station. This station is also a metro station (crossroad of Green and Red lines). For more info visit
Milan metro network guide or
download the Metro Map.
To consult the FNM schedule visit their
website and from the search box, chose Milan Branch (Ramo Milano). In departure station space add Cadorna Milano and in arrival station (Stazione di arrivo) add Laveno if you are going to Lake Maggiore or Como Lago if you are visiting Lake Como. Select the day and the time you prefer (chose early morning trains (07, 00). The trains take one hour to get to Come town ( Lake Como) and one hour and the half to reach Laveno Mombelo (Lake Maggiore). Visit my Lake Come
day trip page.
LeNord trains are also the only railway link between Milan center (Cadorna Station) and Malpensa international airport by Malpensa Express. One way costs € 11 and it takes 30 minutes. The timetable is also consultable on their
website, selecting Malpensa Express from the upper menu.
