Milan morning walking tour

Combine morning walking tour and do some shopping

Enjoy this short morning walking tour in Milan in case you have only a day or two in Milan or maybe only a few hours to see the most important sights. I have almost forgotten to remind you to bring your video or photo camera with you to help you make memorable photos of most important points in very centre of Milan.

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele

This relaxing walking tour will last not less than an hour and half and not more than three hours in case you decide to do some shopping in famous fashion district.

If you are staying in one of Milan’s historical centre hotels you can reach the starting point of our morning walking tour, just walking to Piazza Duomo. I have selected this piazza as a starting point simple because everything you have to see is in close neighbourhood like Piazza della Scala , Piazza Mercanti, Piazza San Fedele, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele.

I do recommend to visit La Rinascente (Piazza del Duomo), one of Milan's largest and most stylish department stores. Don’t miss to take a coffee break on the 7th floor of La Rinascente shooting some photos of Duomo cathedral spires and Piazza Duomo. It’s really a magnificent view.

To visit Duomo cathedral, this Gothic masterpiece, the best way is to visit its rooftop climbing the 201 stairs. There is an elevator which carries visitors right to the top for those who wish to avoid the stair climb. If you are able, I recommend taking the stairs. There is something so rewarding about climbing all the way to the top through winding narrow passageways to finally be compensated with such a magnificent view!

Walking down the Via Torino street or taking tram number 2 (green or orange coloured) on the corner of Via Torino and Piazza Duomo you can easily reach to San Lorenzo Columns. The Colonne di San Lorenzo is the best-known Roman ruin in Milan. It is located in front of the Basilica of San Lorenzo. It is a square with a row of columns on either side.
