Brera, the Paris Atmosphere!

Find your Brera hotel accommodation!

If you are looking for a place with Paris atmosphere, Brera in Milan is a right place. This is one of the most exclusive and chic place to “see and to be seen” in Milan. This quarter of Milan can be described as a luxury Bohemians and covers the same name street, Via Solferino, Via Pontaccio, Corso Garibaldi and Corso Como.

The area of unique atmosphere with lots of good outdoor restaurants, open-air coffee shops and bars with live music the popular place for young people. It’s a nice place for strolling and having a drink but rather expansive to have a dinner.

The best and most popular bars, according me, are Sans Egal, Bar Brera, Art Café and Fashion Café. There are many eighteenth century palaces including Palazzo at number 28 Corso Como that houses the famous Pinacoteca.

The Pinacoteca is having one of the most important art collections of Italy, with paintings of artists of XII to XX century such as Rafael, Mantegna, Piero della Francesca and Caravaggio. The gallery is housed in the baroque building, erected on the site of a fourteenth-century convent, rebuilt by the Jesuits in the seventeenth century.

To reach this Milan’s elite district I suggest you to use the metro number 2 (green line) and get off at Lanza station or bus/trams 3, 4, 12, 20, 61. If you stay more days in Milan, it’s a wise idea to purchase a 24-hour Metro ticket for 3 EURO at Central Train Station. Even walking from Duomo square it will take you 15 minutes to reach it. Maybe this map will help you.
