The Al Mercante restaurant is one of the oldest in Milan overlooking Mercanti square, only a minute from Duomo. Its magnificent open air summer garden encircled by historical old buildings is one of the favourite tourist restaurant. It is furnished in a simple and elegant, although rather old-fashioned, style.

The menu features specialties from Milanese and Tuscany cuisine. The tasty delights start with antipastos such as artichoke or porcini mushroom salad , followed with various pasta meals like house speciality, linguine with calamari and artichokes, ossobuco with risotto, ravioli filled with herbs. As a second course try the brill with artichokes , grilled salmon steak or roast veal with risotto.

The desserts are all home-made and there is a long wine list. (Brunello di Montalcino, Pinot nero, Cabernet Sauvignon 95’, Chianti and Barbaresco).

By Metro Green line N° 1 or Yellow line N° 3 to Duomo
By Tram: 14, 24 and 27.
Open hours: from 12,00 to 14,00 and 19,00 to 22,30. Sunday closed.
Average cost: Euro 40 (wine not included)
